Are you ready for the Holidays yet? This has got to be the most exciting time of year for me!! I just love decorating...which is good, because I get to decorate my home AND the studio. I've been wrapping presents and hiding things from my husband... it's just SO much fun!

We've been so busy here at Sherri's Portraits. We've had some little cuties in with their Holiday outfits and we even went to one family's home to take beautiful Holiday portraits. (Alina, your home is so warm and inviting!) And see if you catch the "JOY" the 3 children had....

Is everyone getting ready for Thanksgiving? It's so hard to believe it's just over one week away...time for the cooking to begin!

Here Comes the Cold Weather!

Get out the sweaters because the cold weather is coming! As my 86 year old Mom has said for years, "Fall is falling!" And after 3 1/2 hours of raking leaves this weekend, I think she's right! So mix up the hot chocolate and get cozy while you see a "Sneak Peek" of our most recent sessions.

Red Top Mountain Portraits

We're gearing up for the Holiday Season here at Sherri's Portraits...

Our Halloween Special will be on the 31st from 10am until 6pm. Just come by anytime for a fun pose of the kids (or the family) in their costumes. Remember...no appointment is necessary.

Our Father Christmas will be on the 24th and 25th, and we'll be at Red Top Mountain for outdoor sessions with the Fall leaves November 1st and 2nd.

Fall is Just Around the Corner!

We've had such fun this past week at the studio...

from a newborn to a 13 year old, you've ALL stolen out hearts!

The last time we saw Megan she was 5 years old. Her mom wanted to recreate a pose we did at that last session. She was standing by a tree in a white dress...and she even had a gold bracelet on. We had a great time that day and can't believe how fast time flies.

We also met Phoenix, who's barely 3 weeks old. She even gave us a little smile! Must have been a very sweet dream...

Memorial Day Weekend...it was so pretty.

portraits taken outdoors! Most children do so well outside...even the 2 year olds! I think they feel a little more free and are more "themselves", which is wonderful for me!

The Scrivner Brothers...

Recently, we had such a great morning with two sessions for one family. It was very special because we had photographed "Big Brother" a few years ago in a beautiful christening gown made by Cylinda at Royalty Childrens Wear. (www.royaltycustomkids.com) His name was embroidered on the bottom of the gown. Well, now there are two names embroidered on the bottom...what an heirloom for the family!

We went outside for the older brother and had a blast...he found a baby strawberry that smelled "so goowed". (What a doll baby!) And baby brother seems to have the same sweet personality already.

We've had some sweet children in the last few days. Mary Helen was here for her 1st session, just like her 5 brothers and sisters were. She looks so much like ALL of them! And Emma was about to celebrate her 1st Communion, just like HER sister a few years ago. It's so much fun to see all of your families grow up in our studio...

"April Showers"

"April Showers bring May Flowers"

I've heard that phrase since I was a little girl. And thank goodness we're getting some of those to wash all of the pollen away!

I went to my hometown in NC this past weekend to visit my best friend since kindergarten... her daughter, Lauren, is getting married on May 24th and I was going to photograph her bridal portraits. We had planned to do these outdoors in her grandparents yard (it looks like a miniature Botanical Garden!) But the clouds rolled in with the wind and the showers poured down. Soooo...we had the key to the chuch and decided to use the Ladies Parlor, which turned out beautifully. It was so much fun to be a part of this...I almost feel like she's my daughter, too!! Can't wait til the wedding!

Happy Easter!

I just love Easter...all the flowers and trees in bloom, the promise of new life, and the warmer weather. (I even got married on Easter weekend!)

Speaking of weather....hope you all were safe last Saturday. I need to thank the Greeson and Carter families. One group was here at the studio when the sirens went off and we had to huddle them in the middle of the studio! The next family actually drove right around the tornado to come in for their session. I'll have to tell you, I was a little anxious until I knew you all were safe and sound.

But we're thankful that everyone was fine and we were able to enjoy the sessions.

Welcome Spring!!

Has anyone caught up on their sleep yet? It takes me a while, especially when we have to go forward an hour. But with that comes the excitement that Spring is really here! The flowers and trees are blooming and......the Bunnies are Coming!! We still have sessions available for our Spring Special with our sweet furry friends, so call us soon. (March 24th-29th)

We had a beautiful little newborn with her Mom and sister that absolutely stole my heart, and another newborn that reminded me so much of her brother just a few years ago. Time does go by way too fast.

It's been a while since I last posted anything to you, but I was gone for a week celebrating my 25th anniversary! Mark and I went on a week long cruise to the Eastern Caribbean and had an absolutely wonderful time. We even got a little suntan while we were gone.

But it's good to be back and see everyone. We met the Clark's and had a great time with them and their dog, Zoe. (she was so sweet) Thanks to the Moores and also to the Dennis family. That session brings a little saying to mind that goes like this....

Happy New Year everyone!!

Did you get to play in the snow last night?! One comment we heard was a precious little girl with freezing toes tell her mom, "I think my feet are sick." All of your children really warm our hearts and souls more than you'll ever know.

We've had a lot of changes here at Sherri's Portraits...As a lot of you already know, Kayla has moved to Tennessee. We really hated to see her go but are also very excited for her and Jeff in their new venture. (I've been told that her favorite part of living in Tennessee so far is seeing Grey's Anatomy one hour earlier!)

So now we'd like to introduce Tammy Clark to the Sherri's Portraits family. We can't wait for all of you to meet her. Welcome aboard, Tammy!!
